Penticton in the South Okanagan Valley is a tough place to forecast weather at least from what I have seen thru about 45years of living here. The Lake Okanagan and Skaha must effect the weather quite a bit and also the mountains around the Okanagan Valley. The forecast will say “North wind all day today” and the wind will be from the South when it gets here or vice versa. From my time here I have noticed, 90% of the time we have a North wind in the morning till somewhere between 11:00am and 2:00pm then it stops and switches to a South wind for the afternoon. If the forcast says “Rain all day” we will usually get 5 to 15 minutes of rain here and not on the other end of town etc.. So here we are today with a forecast of Rain all day and thundershowers for the afternoon. As you can see from my photos from today we went for a paddle today dry and in the sunshine. This morning we had gray/black skies and rain and at about 9am it cleared up and the sun came out for a while so we went out on the lake for a paddle after I finished work for the day then we were treated to yet another sunset.
