We just recently returned from a one month vacation exploring Southern California area. Exploring a few interesting areas for example Death Valley and the Pinnacles, Santa Monica. Here are a few of the shots.
Hope you all had a great Christmas and all the best in 2015.

Beaches in Vancouver
FULL STORY AT: Nudists feel burned by lack of ‘clothing-optional’ beaches.
“Three Mile Beach” Penticton BC
Before they remove the parking lot and best kayak launch area in Penticton and turn it into a park. I hope they find a way to add more free parking for this beach.
Quote from AM1150: “Much of the attention of Penticton’s Okanagan Lake waterfront improvements has gone to the west side of the waterfront along the beach that runs between the Peach and the S.S. Sicamous.
However, Penticton will also have a new park with an improved view at the east end of the Okanagan Lake waterfront at some point this fall.
In addition to the view, City of Penticton Communications Officer Simone Blais says the Marina Way Lookout will restore habitat in the environmentally sensitive area just east of the Penticton Art Gallery and make it much greener.
“This was kind of envisioned as an idea where we restored habitat in the area, cleaned it up a litte bit, planted some natural grass, some shrubs, some trees and then allowed a path that kind of winds over on the breakwater out to the tip so people can actually access the edge and then look out,” says Blais.
The project isn’t as big as the city’s other waterfront enhancement initiatives, but public input Blais believes it will be well received by the public.
The parks department is presenting the proposed park to the public on Saturday, August 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the downtown market, where you can ask questions and provide feedback.

I am not sure if this is a good idea or not. Being an avid kayaker I use this spot frequently for launching on Okanagan Lake in Penticton. This spot is excellent parking area as well. We will loose much parking area if they do this even though it will look pretty. One suggestion if they were to do this is that they would add another parking area, my suggestion would be that lot across from this beach (The old farmers market area which was in construction for an apartment building that fell through right after the foundation was built, many many years ago that has become an eyesore) if they turned this spot into a free parking lot then I could see this project being a good thing but where are all the people who use this beach supposed to park so they can enjoy it?? and sadly where are human-powered boats supposed to launch, the launch ramp at the marina, where the power-boaters have no consideration for the kayakers etc. and refuse to give them way? ~GuyThaLizard http://www.KAYAKokanagan.com
